Top 10 Ways You Know You Live/Are in LA

10.  Palm trees EVERYWHERE!!
9.    You keep "thinking" you see movie stars, but haven't really yet.
8.   The Target and K-Mart stores are more than 1 level tall.
7.   You witness someone smoking a crack pipe outside Starbucks.
6.   You have to maneuver your Jeep Cherokee out of a compact parking spot with 1 1/2 feet of room...and you do it successfully!!
5.   You shop at the thrift store where 95% of the profits go to helping people with AIDS and its called "Out of the Closet"!!!!
4.   You get no cell phone service in a 4g area because you live between too many buildings.
3.   The local dog park has natural TAR pits instead of puddles of water.
2.   You have a stoplight to get onto the interstate.

1.   THE IHOP WHICH IS BASICALLY CONNECTED TO YOUR HOUSE....HAS VALET PARKING!!  ....wtheck???

WHEEEWWWWWWW!!  That is how I feel.  And, how you will surely feel when you come visit me!  :)  Last weekend was full of everything you and I  superficially know about Los Angeles/Hollywood/Beverly Hills.  Started on Friday.  A friend from high school who lives here picked us up, took us to In and Out Burger...a local classic..and quite good.  Then, we wen to the beach in Santa Monica.  Then the promenade with shops/restaurants/street dancers/amazingness in Santa Monica.  We then moved to another bar to meet her friends (all SUPER nice) at a bar on Santa Monica Blvd.  Where...we all proceeded to get hammered then took us home....after a fourthmeal from Taco Bell.  (some things never change)  ;)  Then, yesterday as Daniel, Brent and I were driving to the grocery store, we saw the HOLLYWOOD sign.  Yup..just right there smiling down on my as I walk in to buy my organic sour cream and pomegranate blueberry green tea.  Thats right...everything here is organic.  Lol.  Not too expensive, though.  In fact, I believe milk was cheaper...true story.  Then, last night as Brent and I were driving around, we came across Sunset Blvd and Rodeo drive!!  Im SURE you all are thinking I got out and had to charge something or other but nope!!  I am such a good girl here!! :) 

For those of you who don't know, Brent started working today in the Pain Center at Cedars Sinai hospital.  He will be doing the "aftercare"..or so I call it.  Basically..wake up, take some juice and crackers and get out.  lol.  He's thinking it'll be pretty easy, but he said he only has 40 mins from when he gets them, to get them out the door!  That seems quick....they'll have to buck it up and get out!!  haha.

As if I didn't already know it....Brent just told me how boring my blogs are.  So...when there is more excitement in our lives, atleast more than unpacking my socks and pots and pans....the blogs will surely be more titillating as well...:)

Hola mi amigos!!  Sorry...thats the language of most people here in CA...;)  thanks everyone for following!!!  I'm up to 6 followers now!!  Thats almost enough to be recognized by Scholastic Books or something by now, right?  haha.  Anyway..WE MOVED IN TODAY!!  our place is...."quaint".  Its very nice.  Not huge and when we have visitors....and we expect a lot....it'll be a tight squeeze.  But, we really like it!!  It even has a dry bar.  And, as I'm sure you can imagine..it was just about the first thing set up!....and tapped into.  We haven't ventured out much today, but from our balcony we can see CBSRadio.  Not really sure what that is but it sounds/looks cool.  Our place is coming along nicely.  I'm sure none of you could possibly fathom it but...I brought SO MANY CLOTHES!!  I'm actually taking a break from hanging them up to chat at you.  We didn't bring our shower curtain...DUMB MOVE cause all we are craving now is a shower and can't have one.  :(  oh well...there is always tomorrow.  anyway...more later and LOVE YOU ALL!!

Today FINALLY felt like we are in California!!  We left Sacramento around noon and drove down Highway 1 to Santa Cruz.  We only stopped to beach 1000000 times!  Not really, just one cause there were no pets allowed at most of them.  Calvin had to suffer for 30 mins or so for one stop though, cause we just couldn't resist!  The beach was beautiful and the sand felt so amazing in our toes!!  So..now we are staying in Santa Cruz for the night.  Didn't get too far today but who cares, since we can't move in til tomorrow.  I think we're all pretty excited to have a steady place thats already paid for!!!  Santa Cruz is amazing.  Thats pretty much all I have to say about it.  We tried to go to the Pier but it was basically closed.  Kinda like the Lake of the Ozarks (or Arnolds Park) in the fall/winter.  Still neat though.  Ok...enough for today.  Sorry it wasn't a lot.  More later.  MISS EVERYONE!!

Arms feel much better...thank you Ibuprofen!!  At another sleazy motel, but this time in Sacramento, CA.  Only slightly less sketchy than the first one in Elk City, OK.  I think Calvin is getting used to this hotel/motel thing.  He barks less than the first night....hopefully we're getting him trained for the apartment.  Every time we go to leave we can't find Sydney...and often in the car we have thought we've let her escape at a gas station or she has died.  lol.  But..she lives on!!

Tomorrow will be a much more relaxed day!  Brent has to go to his walk through to get his nursing license here in Cali and Daniel and I have to get up and be out by 11..might be kind of hard considering how little sleep we have had thus far.  I'm not sure if we will go ahead and drive the remaining 5 hours to LA tomorrow or hang out here and do that Friday.  Either way...we can FINALLY get into our apartment Friday!!

Thinking about everyone in the snow while we are here in the warmth.  Please, please be safe everyone!!  We certainly don't need any bad phone calls.  We love you all and hope you have the safest, warmest, coziest of days!!  Love you!...more later

Ahhh....again we start the day with little sleep.  I'm fairly certain I have, at minimum, torn one, maybe  both of my rotator cuffs.  Which, is awesome, as that is what every girl dreams of doing on her way from the snowy midwest to sunny California.  I wonder what I have done karmatically to endure such a pain in the well...shoulder.  This, I just realized will make it hard to hail a taxi, wash my hair or as it turns blog.  Oh well....enough about that.

Today we are in Flagstaff, AZ, hoping to start our last leg of this 3 day driving journey to CA from MO.  12 hours to Sacramento!!!
